The buildings designed by Otto Apel, later ABB Architects in the second half of the 20th century, still dominate Frankfurt's cityscape today. In 2015, the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM) Frankfurt took over part of the ABB office archive. The exhibition "Bühnen, Banken, Flugzeughallen. Frankfurter Projekte von Otto Apel/ ABB" at the Deutsche Bundesbank Frankfurt shows a selection from over 500 historical black and white photographs from the 1950s through the 1970s by the photographer Ulfert Beckert, complimented with new photographs by Eike Laeuen.
In addition to the Deutsche Bundesbank, the 40 or so buildings built by the architectural office in Frankfurt include the high-rise buildings of Dresden including Deutsche Bank, the Städtische Bühnen and the Hotel Intercontinental.
