The special exhibition MANGAMANIA in the Museum of Augustusburg Castle shows and explains modern manga culture in all its facets. And it allows visitors to better understand the phenomenon of manga, a combination of big-eyed pop and traditional Japanese art, entertainment and creativity, mass culture and subversion.

"Big eyes guaranteed": The interactive exhibition shows the whole world of manga and all its genres, visitors can watch anime, meet cosplayers, attend manga workshops, play a jump'n' run game on the big screen or be drawn into the spell of walls of filling, colorful big mangas of contemporary Japanese manga.

As if incidentally, Mangamania also tells history, shows artistic models in Japanese art from the Edo era, tells of many centuries of the isolation of the island state, the changes after the opening for the West and not least of the influence of American comics on manga culture.

Augustusburg Castle, host of the exhibition, is considered one of the most beautiful Renaissance castles in Central Europe. One of the tourist highlights is its museums: on the castle grounds there are various special museums and the large special exhibition area.

Mila-wall exhibition technology has been in use at temporary exhibitions at Augustusburg Castle for around 10 years. With the longevity, high quality and versatility of the modular system, the changing structural and design requirements of the various shows can be quickly implemented and adapted.
